    Panasonc CF-27 Toughbook NO CD DRIVE

    Morning everyone!

    Our school has jus aquired 4 CF-27 PIII 500 Mhz systems that meet the specs to handle 7.10. The problem is, is that they never came with a CD rom drive. They have the A drive module and the Bios won't boot to USB, so my sony external USB doesn't work. Is there a floppy boot disk that I can get to install a USB CDrom that will allow me to install 8.4? We have a lab of 25 8.4 and our students didn't like the look of the new 8.10(?).

    Any help would be great. As these are tough laptops, they are PERFECT for student use.

      Yes, another (brute-force but perhaps simpler) way to handle this situation is to remove thehard-drive, put in a computer where you can install easily, replug it in the notebook, and reconfigure a few things:
