    Automated Install

    Hi.

Is it possible to export the information of ALL installed packages and to use this information for an automated new installation ? I'm getting a little bit tired to manually install all the packages i have installed to a linux during it's whole lifetime when i have to newly install the system due to a system-crash. I did not found anything in the tools like Apt or Adept.

    Thanx

    Klaus

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

Or, if the goal is simply to capture all the installed packages on the old system, for replacement on a new Linux system, then there is apt on cd:

A system crash? I remember those from Win98

Another solution would be dselect. It reads your installed packages into a list which you then feed into the new install and Bob's your uncle.
