That was an idea i considered but i read there's a certain difference between updated versions
and clean installs. Good news though are that i'm now running Kubuntu quite well
The reason for why it didnt work is silly. The laptop overheated, halfway through installation
and bios settings are set to switch off lappy if that happens. This time i just left lappy off for
a while then tried to install and it worked just fine
