When I downloaded kubuntu my computer downloaded the iso file to one part and the other folders to another part. these include preseed and a ton of other folders as well as umenu. when i install should I install with those extra folder on the same disc or should i use the iso to install and then use the other parts later.

Re: CD items required
The ISO file is the important one, it is a complete image of the installation CD. I don't think you need to worry about the other files.
Most CD burning software will burn the ISO image to a CD, once you have successfully burned the CD you can boot from it and start the installation process (or you might want to boot from the Live CD first to check things out before jumping in and installing Kubuntu on your computer).Kubuntu 20.04(AMD64)/KDE 5
