I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this. I recently started using Kubuntu and seem to have nothing but problems with the updates. First off I'm running Kubuntu on a Compaq V3000 Laptop, with 1Gb of RAM and an nVidia Graphics card, and a Dual core-AMD chip
Here's my problem. When I install Kubuntu 8.10 from the Alt Install CD everything goes fine. When I go to the repositories I choose the Main US one and get my updates. When done through Adept or through the console I get a few errors. If I log in under the Console login I don't get errors. When I run the upgrade through the Kconsole I get errors updating a few errors. usually can download the deb and install it and correct it. But once I reboot I loose my x session all together. I've had to happen now with several different stages up upgrading.
I want to switch to Kubuntu but this is really turning me away.
