instalation freeze

    instalation freeze

    I am a newbie and need some help.
    When i try to install Kubuntu 8.10 desktop it alway freeze on me the mouse doesn't work.
    Any idea?

    just to get some reference to go on...
    is this during the installation?
    is it hanging at a certain point every time?
    are you installing from a live cd?
    did you check the md5sum to make sure it is correct?

    a lot of questions, I know... but sometimes it is something as simple as just reburning the ISO at a slower speed.
    4x is usually the best.

      it just when the installation start (choose the language)

        sounds like there might be a problem with the disc.
        check the md5sum from the kubuntu website to make sure it is correct. if that checks out, try to burn the disc again at a slower speed.
