    mode not supported

I have now downloaded two copies of kubuntu 8.10. from two different sites, both in canada.

Both burned ok, since the turning on the system read the disk and ask me how to install.

each disk after I pick English and then the second choice to install normal. takes like 10 minutes do something, so it seems. but when it gets done with the initial loading it just says "mode not supported", I never get to see anything other then the KUBUNTU screen with the green bar prograssing. then its that error.

    Specs

    AMD 6000+
    2x1 gigs kingston 800 mhz
    Gigabyte GA-MA76GM-S2H mobo
WD Sata II 250 gig HD
Samsung S203N Lightsribe DL DVD Burner.

    any ideas anyone?

In your BIOS, look at the SATA channel. Can you change the mode? Mine has to be "AHCI".

If I change it then windows work, besides 8.04 worked without it.

Almost assuredly a video problem. By chance do you have an nVidia card in your PC? From the LiveCD selection menu, chose the option (bottom) to select safe graphics mode. See if that doesn't get you farther along in the install process.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

there is no safe graphics mode option.

If it's a LiveCD, it is either the F4 or F6 function key. It tells you at the bottom of the initial menu screen.
