    How to disable the "Detecting RANDR (monitor)"

    Hi All

    Any ideas how I would do this as I have tried the live cd boot up which only works in safe graphics mode.

    Any help would be gratefully received

    Running dell inspiron on hh 8:04 a the mo but would like to try II 8.10 with kde 4.1 etc

    This option can be found in:

    K > System Settings > Advanced > Service Manager > Startup Services

    I had to disable this in order to stop my external monitor blinking off/on every 5 or so seconds.

      Go to start/system settings and select the "advanced" tab.

      Select services and you will then be able to disable RandR
