    Hi undoIT,

unfortunately I have not been able to fool around enough with KDE4 yet to find out about a lot of stuff but your last point bothered me as well. I enabled the backport repo and went through the motions... and there it was - well, it worked on my box

Also, I'd like to turn off the prompt for Move / Copy when doing drag and drop between folders. I'd like to set the default to "move" if the the new location is on the same partition and "copy" if new location is on a different partition. I checked Dolphin preferences and didn't see anything. Is there a setting for this?

I just popped across there (i run 3.5.10 generally) and updated.... then read your post, so i re-booted into Intrepid with no problem, though the tadpole did take a little longer to load.

I've got a fairly newby question and I'm not sure if there appropriate here. I'll ask if it isn't just turn me and point me to the right area?

I wondering if Intrepid will be good enough to upgrade from Hardy Heron, when it comes out, if I'm concerned about memory usage and stability? Basically, I play wow and i wonder "will this thing be a memory sink?" and I wonder if I'll be crashing often.

What should a noob think of Intrepid when it comes to upgrade timing?

I -already- have WoW up and running under Hardy Heron. I'm wondering if Intrepid Ibex will be a memory hog with it's fancy compiz PLUS ubercool interface. Plus, since it's bleeding edge, will it crash more than Hardy?

Sorry, i should have been more precise.

If you have an NVIDIA card, you definitely wanna wait. See above in this thread, or here for instance:

                      http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=948067

Otherwise, I don't believe the new KDE4 will be an issue, and you can alway disable Compiz if needdded to play games.

                      Best!
