I 've the same problem as well, wireless doesn't work after updated

I cannot say if the wireless still works or not because after logging in I think the desktop/kDE crashes. I see the message of some programme crashing but the whole monitor is white and nothing else is visible. I've done dpkg -reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg but it does not solve it. Will try and delete /.kde and see.

My wireless gets disabled every time (well, most times) there's a kernel upgrade. The rt61 driver that's shipped doesn't work OOTB for me so after every kernel upgrade I download the cvs version of the serialmonkey's rt61 driver and install that.

Oh - and I have to uninstall knetworkmanager and modify /etc/network/interfaces to get it to work.

PITA but at least I know what needs doing!

Which wireless chipset are you guys using? I updated one of my systems that uses a rt2500 chipset and have no problems.

More update today. Wireless is back!! Glad it was temporary.
