    Blank graphic screen on Alpha-6

    Hello,

This weekend i tried to install Interpid Ibex Alpha 6.
First try to run from live cd. Kubuntu screen comes ok.
Then passing trough the graphic KDE-4 screen screen goes blank.
There is some colors in the corners of the screen but notting visible.
I have Asus M2A-VM mainboard and Nvidia 8500GT graphics card with AG Neovo F419 flat screen.

CTRL+ALT+F1 goes to console without problem.

    Any suggestion??

Re: Blank graphic screen on Alpha-6

    Hello,

Yesterday night i took off my Nvidia card from the hardware.
System booted with onboard ATI x1250 graphics card.
Login screen came. I installed system without any problem.
Still no chance with my nvidia card.
I bought my Nvidia card one year ago because of ATI compatibility problems with Linux.

I was suprised that Alpha 6 works ok with ATI graphics card but not with Nvidia card.

I don't know how current this is today, but it may be relevant or semi-relevant to your issues:

        Thanks for support Dibl,

        I solved the problem.
        Hoping to help others:
Using ctrl+alt+f1 i go to console.
        logged in.
        sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-177 (I have Geforce 8500 GT)
        then
        cd /etc/X11 (x is here big X)
        (create backup of xorg.conf file)
        sudo cp xorg.conf xorg.bck
        sudo mv xorg.conf
        sudo nvidia-xconfig

After this its written "new config is written on /etc/x11/xorg.conf file"
        Then
        ctrl+alt+f7
        ctrl+alt+backspace (restarts graphic screen again)
KDE 4 login screen is in front of me.

Hope this will help others as well.
