Mainboard replacement??

Hello,

I have Interpid up to date on my desktop computer.
Yesterday night i f***ked my bios (so mainboard) while trying to make bios update.

Now I plan to buy a new mainboard. Mainboard I am using is not on the market anymore.
So I will buy a new board with different chipset.

Does anyone know what will happen with the first boot of my Kubuntu with different chipset??

Anyone had a similar experience??

Most likely everything will work fine. The only problems will be if you new mainboard has a disk controller that requires a module that it not in your initrd.img. Most other things can load the modules later and not have problems.
