Difficult issue, dont know where to start (Macbook Pro Sound output)

Hi All,

I would like to setup Linux to play audio out via my Hi-Fi using Optical cable.
I have a Macbook Pro with internal Audio, the sound works fine whether listening via the built in speakers or Headphone however the headphone jack doubles as an optical output (3.5mm) this works fine using OSX or Windows however being Linux I knew I would have problems getting this function to work.

Has anybody had any luck? or am I the only Mac user trying this?

Have you configured digital output from within KMix?
