Kubuntu 8.10 running KDE 4.2 doesn't read CDs/DVDs

Hello, I have this problem, testing on 3 different computers with the same setup:

Kubuntu 8.10 + KDE 4.2

Basically, my CD/DVD drives don't read CDs or DVDs. Running Windows on the same machings allows me to read the same CDs or DVDs which didn't run in Kubuntu.

Can anyone help?

I have the same issue have you been able to figure this out. Weird isn't it.

No, I didn't and I tried asking like 3 times in Kubuntu IRC channel as well, with no response. If this persists I'll have to revert to Ubuntu.
