    [Solved]How do I mount a flash drive?

I am running 8.10 Kubuntu with KDE, and I need to know how to mount my flash drive into my port and system. Can someone help me with this, please?

    Many, many thanks!

    "port"?

    I think we'll need a few hardware details -- what's the deal?

usb port. i hope you are not asking for hardware specs. the port is 2.0. i don't know what standard the drive is. does that help?

      thanks,

        OK, USB works.

Hmmmm. Well, is this a usb "card reader slot", like in my Eee PC, or are you using a card reader with a cable to the USB connector, or how is this thing connected?

The slot is built into the computer, in the front, and the flash drive is plugged in. I can't see it on my screen anywhere.

In 8.10, what about that icon in the tray (over on the right, near the clock).
There's a Device notifier or some such. A square-ish boxy thing.
            See it there?

(sorry, not in 8.10 and haven't been for weeks -- in 8.04 here)

                Good!

As I recall, that's where you "safely remove" it, too (right-click, etc.).
