Micro Star International VR705-024 and Kubuntu 8.10

Hello everybody! I bought a MSI laptop, and it seems that I'm stuck with Vista. When I try to install Kubuntu, it tells me that some "AHCI operation" stop the live-cd. And I only have the choice to go by command-line.

I already tried to reset all the partitions on HDD by using a Windows xp cd. But it's still the same problem, I can't do it.

Has anyone got the same problem, or is MSI an only-micro soft laptop brand? (maybe paranoiac).

Ow! I forgot, I've also disabled the "AHCI" mode in the Bios, but it still doesn't work.

I dont know much about this but after googling found a blog that suggested that AHCI may need to be enabled in the bios.
Take a look at this maybe it will help.
