Re: secondary harddrives missing on 8.10
Glad things worked out. What may seem like a mountain to a newcomer to the Linux world is a mere oversight to others and very easy to fix. The most difficult thing most of the time is understanding the problem
With a name like nesta you could be Italian. Since I am currently based in Munich you could pop over for the Oktoberfest and buy me a Mass or two (in which case I'd probably lull somefink abouut Linuxsh an how maaaaarvvvvellllous it ish...) Seriously - I'm just glad it worked.
As for the root thing - it is a security issue. To see whether it should be changed you'll have to answer a couple of questions: How many people use your computer? What do you need the mounted partitions for? Do you have to write to one/some/all of them? Are there partitions you only need to read?
Okay, I'm off the pub for a Helles or two.
Cheers!
