I have a Lenovo W500 which, for the most part seems to be working well.
The ATI drivers install and are flagged as active and the fglrx seems good.
The display is excellent on initial boot.
Here is the caveat:
When first booting into Kubuntu, the Kubuntu logo is fragmented with vertical slices.. Looks funny.
Kubuntu Desktop comes up clean and fine KDM and desktop.
If I shut down or reboot, X loaded however I never get KDM it throws me out to a shell.
If I reboot into Windows, Windows defaults to basic VGA and does not recognize the video card.
At this point I have 2 options.
I can reboot and windows comes up fine detecting the correct video card and driver.
I can reboot into Kubuntu just fine with the fragmented Kubuntu bootup logo and KDM and desktop come up clean.
Note: After the intial clean boot into Kubuntu, a reboot yields a clean looking logo, yet KDM never shows and I get the cell.
