    Power button not recognised (solved)

    Odd one this

Dell 630m centrino laptop. kpowersave works fine - closing lid will hibernate it etc etc but 8.10 just does not seem to think my power button exists! I have configured kpowersave to make the logout menu button appear when I hit the power button but, nothing. Anyone any idea what might be happening here?

    Thanks

    Re: Power button not recognised

Have you tried looking at the options you have under

Kmenu | System | System settings | Advanced | Session manager

There are lots of choices about shutdown there.

What about /etc/init.d scripts? Anything there that might help?

      Thanks!

Changing the default option to end session instead of shut down sorted it. I now get the options menu.
