Please help!
I wanted to rip a music CD, but my recently plugged in devices didn't recognized it.
I tried with empty CD, but it still doesn't work.
I also tried:

sudo mount cd

but I get this error:

mount: can't find cd in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be most helpful.
Please try to mount CD's on your own Kubuntu and post your results to compare.
If this is happening at any other I'll report it as a bug. If not I'll try to resolve, but I'm afraid I will "fail".

It looks right.

Put a CD into the drive, give it 15 seconds to find the CD, and then issue

sudo mount -a

in the Konsole. Let's see if it picks it up.

No it doesn't work, but more strange things are happening on my computer.
I put my Ubuntu live CD in tray and it was mounted with no problem.
Somehow this is a problem only with music CDs

Hmmmm. Well, have you got the libxine1 package and maybe the restricted codecs from Medibuntu installed?

Music cds do not get mounted - you simply start your app and play/rip them

Yeah I was just thinking about that...
I have kubuntu-restricted-extras, but I don't have medibuntu repo..
What is a apt source for it?

I don't know if anyone will still check this topic, but I cant rip music from CD in mp3 format.
I do have Lame installed it should work. Or maybe I getting more stupid by the minute. What am I missing, I did add the medibuntu repo and all...
What am I missing??
