Some problems using KDE (maybe related with nvidia driver)

I have two rare behaviour using Kubuntu 8.10

1.- When I open firefox for example I see that initially into the window
a puzzle zones and only after a few seconds the program show all ok.
These puzzle zones seems parts of my previous screens.

2.- Sometimes but not always doing the same, the system close my session
and then I have a black screen and after a few seconds I have the initial screen asking me
the login and password. Seems that for any reason the X server did a reset. This behaviour
occurs very often. In general it occurs when I try to open a console or while I'm using firefox
    program.

Someone have any idea what's happen this?

I have the same problem. It's not annoying with Firefox, but it's really annoying with Google Earth and Skype. When I'm receiving a video call from somebody Skype dies in Google Earth the globe and maps are rendered horribly.

      Same problem here.
Firefox - pretty bad, Google earth - impossible to use.

Not sure about the nvidia driver in my case.

would be nice to find a way to fix this.

Yes, it has to do with the memory cache in the graphics card. No known fix, except to cover your eyes for 3 seconds when you start Firefox.
