    ATI X700 and Kubuntu 8.10

installed the drivers for my X700 card via the repository and now my video is messed up and won't load up right. All I get is a black screen and everynow and then when I move my mouse I get a few white blobs on the screen. I'm guessing it didn't take the drivers very well. Any idea on how to fix this. Also if you know any tips and tricks to try please explain them out pretty well. I am very new to linux and would appreciate the help. Now according to the description in the repository it was supposed to support the X700 card.

The AMD/ATI drivers supporting Xorg 7.4 will be released next month (November sometime). Best of luck.

Well turns out I don't even need the ATI driver for what I wanted to do. It seems the stock driver that automatically loaded when I loaded up kubuntu works just fine for using compiz.
