    OpenGL

I'm trying to run Virtual Moon Atlas 5.0 and get no pictures. I've been told I have opengl issues, but I'm a total neophyte and don't know where to begin to address my problems...thoughts?

These are the requirements for running Virtual Moon Atlas 5.0:
    Prerequesite:
    - Linux system i386 or x86-64 with 32bit libraries compatibility (ia32-libs)
    - gtk2
    - OpenGL and graphic drivers supporting hardware acceleration
    - sqlite3
Are you able to run Compiz on your PC?

Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

OK. So I used adept to install everything I could find that looked related the the list of prerequisites, and now I've lost my GUI. I'm guessing I somehow corrupted the driver for my ATI card, but I don't know how to restore it from the commande line.
