    Printer configuration in Karmic

I have installed KK in a VM and in Printer configuration in System Settings the settings of the installed printer are not available.
I can change settings using CUPS but not in Printer configuration (which still works in JJ with KDE 4.3.2)

I could add a printer but not set it up.
I can set it up using CUPS though.
Can you adjust/check the settings ising the Printer configuration tool in System settings in Karmic (like you can in JJ)?

        Re: Printer configuration in Karmic

Printers (well USB ones at any rate) are an issue in Karmic due to what seems to be an issue with CUPS.

If by "setting up" you mean print quality etc I suspect the only way will be to do this by hitting the "properties" button when you want to print.

          Re: Printer configuration in Karmic

I am referring to an LPR networked printer and the setup I am referring to is such as default colour, machine options etc.
As already stated I can successfully set it up using CUPS (localhost:631) but not using "printer configuration" as I can in JJ with KDE 4.3.2
