glxgears does not run smoothly

After the latest kernel update the glxgears and some screen savers does not function smoothly!
Can some one please help?

The obvious "solution" is -- boot the previous kernel.

I don't suppose that's the solution you were looking for, however. You have a particular graphics chip, which you can discover by running

lspci

in a konsole window, and then you have the many prior posts on this forum, as well as Google, with which to learn about the best linux video driver for that particular chip, and any special options or techniques that may be needed to optimize the performance of the driver.

If your research doesn't lead you to an improvement, post more details and maybe someone will have some idea what you need.
