Nope, the last upgrade failed. I tried to upgrade using the alternative CD, but it still tried to fetch packages from the internet even though I selected "No" when it asked.

I don't get it. It's like I'm stuck with the upgrade. It won't fetch about 8 packages out of the 1125 and it doesn't even try to get them off the CD.

Getting those 'Connection Failed' messages suggest that your connection to the repositories is iffy. Could be busy servers, problems with your local mirror repository if you're using a local (country) mirror, or general network problems.

You could try downloading the "missing" deb packages manually and putting them in /var/cache/apt/archives.

Your system is confused. At one point you told it to install some packages that failed and are no longer available. Try
              sudo aptitude -f install
It may be able to figure our correct version of things.

Interesting. I went out copied the deb packages that it's failing to fetch and copied them to the /var/cache/apt/archives folder. As soon as I run 'sudo adept_manager --dist-upgrade', it deletes them and tries to fetch them from repositories!! ??
