gnubg won't work after KDE update ???

Very weird. Anyway, when I try to start gnubg in a terminal under Kubuntu 8.04.2 (KDE 3.5.10), I get the following:

    Code:
    mark@mark-AMD:~$ gnubg
    GNU Backgammon 0.15Copyright 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 by Gary Wong.

Note that gnubg does not use the gnubg.bd file.
You should obtain the file gnubg_ts0.bd or generate
it yourself using the program 'makebearoff'.
You can generate the file with the command:
    makebearoff -t 6x6 -f gnubg_ts0.bd

Re: gnubg won't work after KDE update

Bump: I decided to completely remove gnubg and install it directly from source (my first time attempting this). Well it worked for the most part thanks to well-written instructions on the gnubg website. The program seems very stable, but I don't have any sound. I was getting a gstreamer error and found out, from the author, that the -q (for quiet) should prevent the error. It did, so now I can run the program albeit with no sound.

on the Settings > Options > Sound menu, there is a "sound command: " text box at the top. Does anyone know what I can put into that text box to enable sound with gnubg? The game apparently uses gstreamer which my sound system does not. Of course, I'm also open to any other options as well. Thanks in advance...

    I'm running Kubuntu 8.04.2 with KDE 3.5.10.
