Rebooting doesn't work, neither does "update-initramfs -u". Worryingly, the actual GRUB package doesn't seem to be installed . . . I've rebooted quite a few times since this problem cropped up, so I'm leery of rocking the boat too much by re-installing the grub package, but I'll take a stab at it if people figure that'd be the best course of action.
