I received an Epson All-in-One printer for Christmas. After two solid days of searching and testing and swearing etc. I took it back. Epson wrote me and told me they do not support Linux O/S. I went and exchanged it for an HP DeskJet F4210 All-in-One. { $49.00canadian } Went to this website: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web...all/index.html and within minutes I was up and running and scanning with Xsane ( Which was the big problem with the Epson; no scanning)
The thing I couldn't get to work with this one was the copying feature. Then I realized, if I can print and scan I don't need to copy anyway, so it's all good. My point is, that if you are going to add a printer to Linux, my suggestion is go with HP. There are literally hundreds that are compatible with Linux.
