[Solved]Transfering pictures to a Windows machine

I use to be able to take pictures from my Kubuntu machine on cd or flashdrive and upload them to my wife's Windows machine. She would then be able to do whatever she wanted with them. While trying to handle a disrelated problem, I must have inadvertently pressed something because now when I try to upload pics to her computer, they go as a file that has to be resaved and converted to a jpeg even though my machine says they are already jpegs.Very frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions?

Verify that the files are actually .jpeg files, and not some other format, but with a .jpeg extension. What image program do you use?

The simplest thing is usually the answer. I think when I was renaming the the pictures I didn't do it with a .jpg extension .Douh!! Thanks Snowhog.
