[SOLVED] Character 'd' is not recognized

when I type all other chars are recognized and accepted except char 'D'

    its not hardware.

its only recognizes D when I press shift+D
If I need to miniscule d I set caps lock on and press the shift+D
but then my caps lock goes all weird and it starts inverts everything
    meaning:
if my caps lock is on everything is small
if i turn it off everything is big

and it only starts when Im logged in in KDE
because the password has a 'd' on it an it recognizes it without a problem.

    Language: US English
KB layout: Generic 105 key(Intl) PC

    any ideas? thanks in aDvance

Re: Character 'd' is not recognized

try renaming ~/.kde to ~/.kde-old, and see if that fixes it.

What this will do, is that when the problem user logs in, the .kde folder will be recreated. By renaming it, you will have it backed up, just in case.

You will need to do it from the recovery log in (you can also probably do it from a console login), or the changes won't stick. Let us know how it goes...
