Click in browser selection box fails

On some on-line stores, you're supposed to be able to click on a small box in front of a product's name. A check mark then appears in the box.

Since installing Hardy, this doesn't work for me. On some sites, such as darty.fr, clicking accomplishes nothing -- either with Firefox or with Opera. On others, such as http://www.cmsmatrix.org/matrix/cms-matrix?func=search, an existing check mark is removed by a click, but a second click just makes the box turn slightly grey and a tab is needed to get a check mark to show up. (I had to to this on this very site in order to check the box to be notified of replies.)

I find this quite odd. Allso annoying.

Anyone else see such bizarre occurences? Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for the suggestion.

I installed gtk2-engines-qtcurve, as suggested in step 4, and and set the style to qtcurve, whatever that may mean.

Now it works fine with the CMS matrix site, but still not at all with the commercial site.

I looked at the other steps, but did not do them. I started to set ui.allow_platform_file_picker to false, but a message from Firefox told me that if I did, lightning would strike me and I would die.

Is it worth it? Should I do those other steps anyway?

      Thanks a lot.

        Glad you didn't then

Try also step 1. 2 is the theme to use and 3 is already sorted in Kubuntu, I believe.

My boxes in gmail looked funny but not any more. Not sure about your other site, though
