Hi all,
I have installed VDK Builder 2 from the repository but I cannot get this to work. I have researched quite a bit on this but have never found the same or similar error. I did manage to find something vaguely similar to do with a library associatyed with OpenOffice but I don't have that installed.
The actual installation works fine but when I try to run "vdkb2", here's what I get:-
~$ vdkb2
(process:9329): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.16.6/gobject/gtype.c:2248: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function
(process:9329): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed

VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - got /usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbcalendar.so interface - 0x8257f48

VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - got /usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbdclock.so interface - 0x8258448
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - module name:/usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbtreeview.so
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - got /usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbtreeview.so interface - 0x8258458
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - module name:/usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbdrawarea.so
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - got /usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbdrawarea.so interface - 0x825a340
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - module name:/usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbcomboentry.so
VDKBPlugin::VDKBPlugin - got /usr/lib/vdkbuilder2/libvdkbcomboentry.so interface - 0x825a918
I have tried removing the packaged version and downloading and installing/compiling the source code but this refuses to build and throws errors. I can't remember exactly remember what the error was but I don't want to go down that route again as when I tried to fix the problem, I trashed my install of Kubuntu and had to re-install. I vaguely seem to remeber it had something to do with diffentiating the way 32 and 64 bit variables were addressed.
On other forums I have managed to find posts stating that this is not a glib problem but one of GTK. Others have argued to the contrary.
Anyone got any ideas?
Dave
