    Firefox add-on screen keeps poping-up

At least daily Firefox opens, not to the start page, but to the add-on screen. It says (one or) 2 new add-ons have been installed.

First of all, no they haven't! They've always been there.

Secondly, they say EN-GB, but I'm not in GB, I'm EN-US.

Here's the screen shot (click to enlarge):

Any idea what's going one here?

    I'm running Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092416 Firefox/3.0.3
    on a Kubuntu 8.4 system

May be a similar episode, but I am having a problem with Firefox on a new install of 8.04 64 bit. DOM Inspector and Javascript Debugger were dumped on the system. Half the time I can't get anywhere because Firefox say's it's in offline mode (but Opera works fine). I either enable or disable DOM inspector, and firefox works fine for awhile.

I've had extensive problems with Firefox on 64bit Kubuntu, so I have to wonder.
