I am sorry that you do not understand those instructions but cannot think of any way to make it more understandable.

Perhaps you could give more info on the steps you have taken so far (for example where you got the download from), try to follow the howto and tell us where you fail to go any further.

          "add these to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

          Quote
          deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
          deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main"

I can`t add that text to source list.

"Then come error when i save changes.

The document could not be saved, as it was not possible to write to file:///etc/apt/sources.list.
Check that you have write access to this file or that enough disk space is available."

When I click OK.. I see that.. ::

"Data you requested to be saved could not be written. Please choose how you want to proceed."

Let me quote the whole thing:
If you are an 8.10 user simply add these to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

            Quote
            deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
            deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main

            followed by a

            Code:

            sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

            Otherwise
Are you an 8.10 user? No! So I suggest you read on

              Okey then..!!

              2. untar the download wherever, for the sake of argument let's say directory /a/b/c/ - if you don't know how to untar, right click on the ooo3...tar.gz package and choose to "open with Arc". Now you can unpack using a GUI.

Now I downloading openOfiice file from that page.

I can untar that file when i LIKE..?

              Where i can get GUI..?

Re: Open Office and my Kubuntu

                Cool 8)

Once you have it downloaded right click on it in konqueror/dolphin and select "open with Arc". Arc is a GUI for extracting tar files (tar is a compression system similar to zip - but open source). Select where you want to untar the files to.

Since you don't need them again after the install, choose any old directory.

                Okay so far?
