Hi,
I'm just getting started with using digiKam, having convinced the missus that installing Kubuntu is a Better Thing than repairing/reinstalling Windows... yay!
Anyway, we keep our photos on disk, and up until now have been keeping them in folders in the following scheme:
The Canon software for Windows automatically put the photos in the correct correct .../Year/Month/Year_month_day/ folder based on the shooting data of the pictures.
I have found out that digiKam can auto-create Albums (aka. folders) based on the shooting date of the photos on my camera, but only seems to create folders in a much flatter structure, like this:
While there is nothing wrong with this, it does mean that there would be a lot more folders at the top of the directory tree. My question is this:
-- is there any way to get digiKam to create "deeper" album/folder structures, or is there a cunning shell script that could be run to do this?
Many thanks for your help...
Jon
