    kde software not working

I just got an xps m1530 with Ubuntu installed. Since I like Kde better than Ubuntu I decided to installed the window manager, but nothhing works. When I try to play amarok in Gnome there is a dialog box that pops out saying the following:

There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:

Could not read network connection list.
    /home/pookito/.DCOPserver_dell-desktop_0

Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!.

How can I get the kde programs to work? let me know please.

AFAIK, process which manage Interprocess Communication(IPC) in KDE is called DCOP (Desktop COmmunication Protocol), maybe you should install something dcop things? Not sure, but you may check it

Did you install KDE according to these instructions: HOWTO: correctly install/remove k/x/ed/ubuntu-desktop packages ?
