    Can't Eject? (But can unmount)

When I start my KDE Session and right click on a USB Hard Drive I get a dialog box that says:

    The device was sucessfully unmounted,
    but could not be ejected
At this point is it safe to unplug the USB Cord? How can it unmount and not eject?

You can't "eject" a HD. As long as it is reported as unmounted, you can remove it.

There is no tray, unless disconnecting the USB cord is ejecting it.

It is still on the desktop though...

The message is simply wrong/misleading. Once you have unmounted an externally connected USB device, you can unplug it.

Last time when I used Gutsy Gibbon, it would dissapear from desktop after we safely remove it. But in Hardy Heron, it still appear in desktop (although in umount). If I am not mistaken, this can be set somewhere. So if we unmount the disk it will disappear from desktop.

But of course we can safely remove the USB device after safely remove it.
