    Weird virtual desktop behavior

A week ago I install Kubuntu 8.04 on my girlfriends PC. Everything runs nice, except when you touch the upper or lower edge of the screen with a mouse pointer, KDE (3.5.10) automatically switches to another virtual desktop. It doesn't look like a bug, so I'm suspecting it's a function that can be turned off. Any ideas?
