    Trying to start ProjectCenter

I have used Adept to install ProjectCenter and all the required GNUStep items and it reports it is all installed OK.

The KMenu does not show and entry for ProjectCenter even if I open the menu editor and select Save.

I have tried to add and entry for ProjectCenter.app and have also pressed Alt-F2 and entered ProjectCenter.app but this gives me an error: Unknown Host ProjectCenter.app

Could someone give me a pointer in how I start it?

    Thanks

      Re: Trying to start ProjectCenter

      Hi,

I tried that and I got a message saying 'ProjectCenter' is currently not installed. Run sudo apt-get install projectcenter.app

When I did this I get a message saying projectcenter.app is already the newest version 0 upgraded, 0 installed, 0 to remove and 102 not upgrade.

So I type projectcenter and I get the it is not installed error?

      Confused?

Since installing it, have you performed a normal shutdown/restart yet?

I just restarted and now get this:

for Alt-F2 typing projectcenter I get the error Service '/home/paul/.local/share/applications/ProjectCenter.desktop' is malformatted

And from a terminal bash: projectcenter not found

          I am completely stumped?

Installed projectcenter.app from Adept Manager myself, just to "see" what happens. It installed, but I too, can't seem to figure out how to start it. I've done some Googleing and have not yet found any real help.

Try a spring (well, autumn ) clean first:

sudo apt-get remove -- purge projectcenter

                          sudo apt-get install projectcenter

If that does not work I'd update my database after the purge (sudo updatedb) and then search for all projectcenter related files (locate projectcenter). That might get you going...

Hi Snowhog, the first thing I installed was GNUStep and that too is reported by adept manager as being installed along with its requirements. I also have GORM installed.
