slight firefox weirdness

The version I have installed is firefox 3 from the usual repositories.

So how do I stop it freezing up completely when I try to organise my bookmarks

I've found that the 'Library' has real problems with larg amounts of bookmarks.

I cured it by thinning most of the unused ones out...

but it shouldn't be necessary, i must admit. It was never this way when it was Mozilla.
