Unstable software in use on Kubuntu ?

The reason why I ask this question is simple. I have been having stability issues with xorg-x11 on my laptop and I was wondering why that was. I found my answer soon enugh. Xorg-x11 did inform me that the version I was using pre-release of it, I soon found out that the same goes for firefox, but I am currently using version 3.0.3 when 3.0.1 is the current stable one.

Isn't there some way for me to only use stable packages in Kubuntu ?

As for Firefox, 3.0.3 is the most current release. Two security patches have recently been issued by the folks at Mozilla. 3.0.3 should be equally as stable as 3.0.1, however it should be more secure.

As for Xorg-x11, I don't know. What version of Kubuntu are you running?

I am running Kubuntu 8.04.1, but that appears to be the most recent release that is out.
