    pdfinfo - what is that for ?

    Lately i noticed that the pdfinfo process is running at very high cpu, over 90%. what is it and can i disable it ?

    Have a look at this page :

    where you will see that this object gathers info about the .pdf document you are about to read. I can't see why you would wish to turn it off but on the other hand I do not have enough knowledge of the kpdf source code to tell you how to disable it.

    Are you viewing large complicated pdf's to cause this amount of CPU usage?

      well.. i do open big pdf files occasionally. and i do notice that the process will run opening a pdf file. my problem is that the process is working 90% and up, slowing my computer.
