    Sounds problems on KDE 3

I don't know if this question is a software or hardware question...

    anyway..

i've experience some problems in KDE ....

I just cant get a stereo sound from my computer...

i've tried all... tried all kinds of combinations on KMix...

i've also tried so verify the file...on a MP3 player its sound perfect...

Another thing that I tried is to make the configurations on my LCD monitor(it have 2 little sound boxes)

Now im using kubuntu, but before it i used OpenSUsE with the very same kde.. and experience the very same problems
    please help me out!

I assume that you have looked/searched at this forum first? And i.e. found the following command
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils.d reset (and perhaps a reboot, see post 18 Sep.)
but it didn't work for you?

      No...

my sound do works, but only one side of it, so some instruments simply are not played...

      i've tried your tip:

      lucca@ESPXII:~/install_flash_player_9_linux$ sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils.d reset
      sudo: /etc/init.d/alsa-utils.d: command not found
      lucca@ESPXII:~/install_flash_player_9_linux$

      ...
Thanks you for your help so far

Perhaps it is a hardware problem, as you do get mono. Do you get a mono sound out of the two speakers, or do you only get sound from one speaker?

Install alsamixer (the command line version) and try to configure it from there. Kmix only shows you part of the settings for you audio card.
