    Dropbox anyone?

    http://www.getdropbox.com/install?os=linux

    Dropbox to run on your Linux system check if you have the following software dependencies installed:

    * GTK 2.12 or higher
    * GLib 2.14 or higher
    * Nautilus 2.16 or higher
    * Libnotify 0.4.4 or higher
    * Wget 1.10 or higher

    Obviously not thrilled with the Nautilus requirement...

    Glad you posted this. I was going to post something similar.

    Is anyone out there working on a KDE version of Dropbox? I've got it installed on the Windows side of my dual-boot machine and my work computer. It's the nuts. I would love to use it in Kubuntu, where I spend 95% of my time, but I don't want to install 70+ packages just to make the Nautilus thing work.

    Anyone? I'll mail you beer.

      I don't think you need the whole gnome-desktop for it to work... the install needs nautilus (and also the system tray icon), but otherwise I think it is syncing just fine with teh service running.

      FYI - TimmyMac, ygm. Oh, nevermind... I think that is just for new subscribers. Sorry.

        Not working for me.

        Nautilus segfaults. I heard it is incompatible with systems that have KDE4 for some reason(?)

        Quite frustrating, as my school/work computer is Kubunutu (90% of my time) and my home computer is Windows.

          Work on my KDE4... I had to install Nautilus to do the setup (I think), but otherwise as long as the dropboxd is running it syncs anything put in the folder...

              SpiderOak is very similiar, except that it installs it's own app and allows for syncing multiple folders (i think).

                I ran across this how-to for getting Dropbox up and running on Kubuntu without having to install Nautilus and all its baggage. I haven't tried it out yet...still at work...but I plan to give it a shot this evening. I did read some success stories using this method, though.

                  To follow up, the method I posted above worked great for me. It's very cool to share common files on multiple OS's on multiple networks (almost) instantaneously. The one "killer app" for me is storing a common KeePass database which allows me to edit and access all my passwords from any of the computers I work on.
