Uploading an image problem

I'm not sure where to put this, but anyhow....

I'm trying to put a snapshot of my desktop in the Image Gallery, but whether i give the url (http://www.agedhippy.plus.com/snapshot1.jpg) or try to upload it from locally i get the following message:

! Error !

Cannot upload image.
Check write permissions for the directories mkportal/modules/gallery/album and mkportal/modules/gallery/album/tmp (CHMOD 0777).

I've checked the properties of the image, and they're -rw-r--r-- so i'm sort-of buggered.... though not literally.

Have you tried with :

sudo chmod 777 yourimage.jpg

?

It looks like it's not the fault of the image but of the directory mkportal/modules/gallery/album and mkportal/modules/gallery/album/tmp. You probably need to chmod that directory to 777 along with all its subfolders (recursively).

Thanks for the responses, but the directory in question isn't on this machine, nor on the server.

If i click on the link above, Firefox opens it in another tab with no problems.

It seems to be a problem on the Forum end.... though i may well be wrong ....which has happened before.

Oops, I didn't realize you were uploading to this forum.
I've never done it, so I'll bow out of this conversation. :P
