Although I tend to agree with dibl and the others, that it may be a hardware issue, I'm curious to know if this lockup occurs when firefox is running. I'm watching some weird lockups occur with certain web pages. Complete system lockup. I'll try that 'unlock method next time it happens just to see if it makes a difference.

I will pay close attention and report back, but I am almost sure it doesn't involve FF every time. I leave the box on 24 hours, and when I'm not at it usually I have Amarok and Ktorrent running only, if anything... and I have found the box locked up more than once. But I will make a point of taking note what was running on a lockup.
