Issues w/ installing/dloading Gnome via Adept

    Hello Folks,

I've got Kubuntu installed on my system. I've been attempting to grab the latest version of Gnome via the Adept Manager, just for kicks and out of curiousity to try it out. Every time I request install, it changes from "no change" to "BREAK (install)". Been trying for a few days. Why does this happen, and how can I get Gnome?

Re: Issues w/ installing/dloading Gnome via Adept

Right, I opened a shell and typed
    sudo apt-get install -s gnome
Here is what it spurt out:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gnome: Depends: gnome-desktop-environment (= 1:2.20.2.2) but it is not going to be installed
    E: Broken packages
So same here. Perhaps you want to google the above error message to see what others have done.

I will definitely do that. Just tried it again and guess there are dependency issues.

Thanks for your post. I appreciate it.
