    Database locked - Adept Batch-error

I'm trying to enable Broadcom B43 wireless drivers in a new KDE 4.1 installation, but when I check the "enable"-box, a message that says that adept is currently in use show, and when I press "yes" to solve the problems automagiclly it just crashes. What can I do to solve this, and install the needed drivers?

Either you've got Adept or synaptic still open, or the dpkg database is locked. Make sure Adept and Synaptic are closed, then issue
    Code:
    sudo dpkg --configure -a
    and it should be OK.

Nope, no progress. Everything happend the way it should and the drivers are marked as in use, but the network manager still doesnt find my home network.

OK, the good news is, it's not an Adept problem.

And it sounds like the Broadcom driver may actually be working, so that's more good news.

Search on knetwork-manager -- there have been many, many posts on this forum. I don't happen to use wireless on Kubuntu, so I'm pretty useless on that front.
