This may be a particularly dumb/simple question... but I haven't been able to find any solutions that work for me.
I'm running 64bit kubuntu 8.04.1 with kde 3 on an ASUS F3KA Laptop. One of the apps I need to run is Skype... i'd like to get the video working but what has been more of a problem is the muted capture channel.
If I forget to change the volume before making/receiving a call then my mic is muted. I've checked and none of the changes I make in kmix are kept after the program is closed and re-opened. The volume is reset if I turn the computer off... let it sleep, quit kmix, ect.
I have been very impressed with Hardy's out of box compatibility... in 64bits even with the eye candy it runs circles around Vista.
My wife would like to switch to Linux too because of Vista woes... but little things like this have her thinking twice.
Thanks in advance,
Weston
